Gaylord Palms 2014’s ICE features a ‘Nutcracker’ theme!
Gaylord Palms Resort annual ice-sculpture event will feature scenes inspired by the ballet, known for the sugar plum fairy and the mouse king. ICE will also have four ice slides and carving stations showing the artisans at work. The exhibit will be accompanied by the original Tchaikovsky score.
Also using two million pounds of ice, the exhibit will be transformed into the North Pole featuring an arctic forest, a Christmas carnival with a life-size carousel, Santa’s ornament room and even his reindeer! One of the attractions favorite scenes is an unforgettable Life-sized Nativity made completely of clear ice. Frozen within these unique sculptures are twinkling lights that create an ever-changing luminescence. “ICE!” exhibit’s most popular attraction, the incredible slides carved from ice, is longer and the Alpine Rush Snow Tubing, an eight-lane snow hill made of 1.5 pound of “real Florida snow,” should be a hit. It will debut Nov. 21. Guests will get 10 runs down the hill for $18.95.
