Gatorland, also known as the “Alligator Capital of the World,” is one of Orlando’s best half-day getaways. Gatorland was founded in 1949 as a roadside attraction and has since grown into a 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve that offers fun for all ages.
Feeling brave? Rookies can step into the Gator Wrestlin’ Arena and get up close and personal with one of nature’s most feared species. Or, clip in and zip off the all-new Screamin’ Gator Zip Line. You’ll soar 1,200 feet in the air as 130 giant alligators watch you from below in the Alligator Breeding Marsh. For those who are feeling extra brave, The Screamin’ Gator Zip Line is also offered as a nighttime experience and includes a private tour where you’ll meet Gatorland’s rare white alligators.
If you’re in pursuit of a fun and educational experience, check out the “Night Shine” tour, where adventurous guests trek through the Alligator Breeding Marsh equipped with only a flashlight and a few hot dogs. Or, simply stroll around the park at your leisure and enjoy Gatorland’s petting zoo, aviary, reptile shows and more.
