Disney World Resorts will be removing the Iconic Sorcerer’s hat from the center of Disney’s Hollywood Studios after almost 15 years. While rumors about the enormous hats removal have been around for years this is the first time the park has revealed plans about removing the hat by early next year, which will restore the view down Hollywood Boulevard and the theater.
In addition to the Sorcerer’s hat removal, it seems that Disney plans on making major changes to entire park. The hub of the park will be re-imagined starting with the removal of the Sorcerer’s hat with the possible addition of a show stage (not yet confirmed). Next are the Pixar and Star Wars additions to the park that will expand from its existing sections of Toy Story and Star Tours. The Earful Tower (Water Tower with Mickey Ears) will finally return as the official icon for the park. This is the beginning of a needed and long awaited, multi-year expansion project that will completely change the look of the park, and will introduce amazing new attractions, rides, shows, and experiences. They haven’t given away all the juicy details so we are sure there is more to come.
Are you going to miss the hat? Should they relocate it somewhere else in the park? Go to our Facebook page and tell us what you think!
